Out of necessity, AVISP was founded by Fred Young and Steve Young in 2002 to provide high-speed internet services to the Alexander Valley area.

Steve Young has owned and operated an IT consulting firm for 10 years specializing in wireless. Having deep family roots in Alexander Valley (his family has farmed the Alexander Valley since 1850 and continue to do so, he decided to relocate his home and office to the Alexander Valley. He soon discovered that high-speed internet was not available. As with most businesses, Steve s IT operation relies heavily on the internet to stay in contact with clients, and on occasion assist clients remotely. Dial-up just wasn t going to work. Using his IT background and experience he decided to partner with his uncle, Fred Young, and form AVISP. From that time AVISP has grown and continues to offer high-speed access to more and more clients in an ever wider circle of reach.

Fred Young has not only helped his family grow award-winning wine grapes in the Alexander Valley, but founded and developed the Robert Young Estate Winery, and has independently developed and grown several businesses in the auto and recreation vehicle industry for many years. Fred s entrepreneurial spirit and instincts have been key in the development and growth of AVISP.
